R&J Wedding

When meeting my couples before their wedding, I always like to get their story. The story of how they met, how they fell in love, and the when, where, and how of the proposal. This always takes the edge and nervousness off their minds, while bringing back nostalgia. Their story is particularly special, and it went something like this:

So how did you guys meet?

R: “It was my mother’s birthday and she always loved the cakes from the bakery down the street. I walked in and happened to see her helping a customer and the first thing that caught my eye were her dimples when she smiled. That’s when I knew I wanted to pursue her and continue to see those dimples.”

What was the moment you knew you were each other’s person?

J: “For myself it was when he started to remember the little things, the tiniest details. Not to mention he made me laugh so much my stomach would ache. He became my best friend and my rock.”

R: “For me it was when I realized she would always stand by me no matter how foolish I was or how rough things got. She always gave me the best advice and had a way with her words to always make me feel at ease.”

How did he propose?

J: “It was the bakery’s 10 year anniversary and my mother decided to have all of our friends and family there to celebrate. My mother was giving a speech about how she appreciated everyone’s love and support throughout the years, then he stood up. He talked about all his favorite pastries my mom baked him then he turned and started talking to me about the first time we met and how he fell in love with my dimples. That’s when the mood shifted and I knew what was about to happen. I automatically had flutters in my stomach and I couldn’t stop smiling. He dropped down to one knee and now we are here!”
