What to gather for your photographer on your wedding day

Hello, to my beautiful brides! This blog post is for you! I’m sure you’re looking over your lists to make sure you don’t forget anything on your special day. I want to be able to photograph all the little details of your day because they are definitely moments that you will want to remember . I have a styling kit that consists of ribbons, ring boxes, wax seals, and trinket dishes to style your beautiful wedding day details. These photographs typically take me about an hour to capture, so the more prepared we are, the more smoothly it’ll go.

Ladies grab your bag

Find a  bag that you can have on that special day. This should be big enough to carry  everything you need to make every moment right. Make sure you get one that is easy to carry.

This bag will hold every last bit of details you need on the day of your wedding. The last thing you want to be doing on your wedding day is stressing and scrambling for all your essentials. This bag will keep all of that in one safe place for you, and once you go through the list and have it all in the bag, you will have one less thing to worry about for your big day!

I like to begin every wedding day shoot with the dress and detail shots. Keeping all the essentials in one bag will not only make our lives easier but will also help me finish up these shots quickly, and that means more shots of you and your tribe getting ready.

I put together a list of items, I regularly photograph for you to refer to:

  • Your dress and pretty hanger(s)

  • Accessories: veil, garter, jewelry, shoes

  • Lipstick, perfume, or makeup you'll be wearing

  • Something blue, something borrowed, and something new

  • Groom’s accessories (tie/bowtie, shoes, cufflinks, and boutonniere)

  • Bride and groom’s wedding rings

  • Invitations, save the date announcements, R.S.V.Ps

  • Vow booklets

  • Bridal party’s floral arrangements / Boutonnieres

  • Loose flowers to be photographed with details on flatlay

Your dress is number one on my list. I love shooting the details of your dress because everyone at your wedding looks at it but they don’t have the time to really see all of its design, beauty, and details. You are going to want to capture that beautiful beading or the lovely lace that went into creating your perfect wedding dress.

Accessories would be next to be photographed. I’ll gather your jewelry, veil, garter, shoes and create a unique flatlay. How can you forget about your something blue, something borrowed, and something new?

Gather your hubby’s accessories like his bow tie, watch, boutonniere, anything special he might be wearing that day. Along with the bride comes the groom, so we want to capture those little details as well.

I’ll finish capturing both of your little details by taking beautiful photos of the rings. I get so excited capturing the glimmer in the stone because it always matches the love in the bride and groom’s eyes. If you would like to purchase your own ring box and would like something customized with your initials. I would recommend that you check out The MRS BOX click here to be directed to their website.

Invitations, R.S.V.P.s, vow booklets and basically everything in writing related to your wedding is what I look for next. You are more than welcome to send these to me ahead of time so that I have more time capturing everything else. Please bring an extra invitation, just in case something happens to one - we have a backup. This custom suite was designed by Olive Saint Lily click here to be directed to their website.

Floral arrangements: We can’t forget about the bouquets and boutonnieres of the bridal party. I can take care of these while the bridesmaids and groomsmen get ready.

After capturing all of your details, I want to photograph the bride and groom getting ready. You won’t even notice me there so these photographs will be pure and full of different emotions. You’ll be able to see everyone’s laughs and smiles while getting their makeup done or putting their tuxes on.
